Through a Lion of Judah Endowment or Pomegranate Annual Gift Endowment contribution to the Annual Campaign of the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas, a woman can strengthen the Dallas Jewish community for generations to come. She will even make a difference overseas, where her resources will help ensure that Israel continues to grow and flourish.
Easy Ways to Establish a PAGE
Many women are surprised to discover how easy it is to fund a LOJE or PAGE. Through simple, innovative steps, an endowed gift is within the reach of any woman of any age or giving level.
Because every woman has unique estate-planning and tax objectives, a LOJE or PAGE can be easily designed to benefit each individual’s personal and financial circumstances. Dallas Jewish Community Foundation endowment professionals and financial and legal advisors can design an endowment that will help each donor realize her philanthropic vision and meet the required criteria.
Frequently Used Vehicles to Fund a PAGE
An outright gift. This is the easiest way to create an endowment, using cash or appreciated assets such as stocks, bonds or real estate.
A life insurance policy. The reasonable costs and tax benefit make this particularly appealing for younger donors. If the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation is named owner and beneficiary, premiums may be tax-deductible.
A Philanthropic Fund or Supporting Foundation. Donors may dedicate the remainder of a fund or Supporting Foundation, or make recommendations annually from it, to create a LOJE or PAGE.
An IRA or pension plan. The Treasury rules regarding taxation of distributions of IRA assets make these assets ideal for transfer to a charity or qualified charitable trust through the beneficiary designation of the Plan Instrument itself or by Testamentary provisions. A portion of these funds can be used to create an endowment as part of a financial or estate plan.
A charitable life-income plan, charitable remainder trust or charitable gift annuity. This offers the benefit of life income payments with tax deduction. The remainder may be contributed to a LOJE or PAGE.
A simple bequest in a will or trust.
Once a PAGE funds is established, they are invested and prudently managed for maximum yield at the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation. Funds are calculated at a yield of five percent, to perpetuate annual gifts at their current giving levels. Thus the Endowment is established with a minimum of twenty times the amount of the intended perpetual annual gift.
Women, who give between $1,800 and $4,999 to the Federation’s Annual Campaign, should create an endowment of 20 times their current annual gift.
A PAGE fund is not intended to substitute for any part of a gift to the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas.
