About the Scholarship

Ira Silverman and Paula Donovitz established this scholarship for Jewish students from small communities in honor of Deborah, a former DJCF employee and former board member of DJCF who was raised in a small Jewish community in Waco, Texas. This award is for Jewish students from small Jewish communities and towns, as defined as communities with two or fewer Jewish congregations.

Passover Holiday Office Hours

The DJCF/SWCF offices will be closed in observance of the Passover holiday on Tuesday, April 23 – Wednesday, April 24 and on Monday, April 29 – Tuesday, April 30.  Any grants made starting on April 18 will be processed upon our return to the office, no later than May 3.  Thank you for your patience and wishing all who celebrate a wonderful holiday.
