Since October 7, antisemitism has increased 337% in the United States with global incidents on the rise as well. Across the US, Jewish institutions including synagogues, campus Hillels, and schools are being targeted among others. We have compiled this list of organizations that are actively working to advocate for elected officials to support Israel and take steps to combat antisemitism and respond to incidents of hate. We have also included local initiatives that were submitted to DJCF’s Funder’s File to support populations affected by acts of hate and antisemitism. We recognize that it is not comprehensive, and we encourage you to give to the organizations that most speak to you.

American Jewish Committe (AJC)

AJC is responding to the October 7th attacks through advocacy to elected officials to support Israel against Hamas and terrorism, is urging Congress to take action and demand that Hamas release the hostages and is urging university presidents to act against antisemitism and take steps to combat hatred on their college campuses.

Anti-Defamation League (ADL)

In the aftermath of the October 7th attack in Israel, ADL has tracked a shocking rise in antisemitism in the U.S. and around the world. We continue to provide research, analysis, and data to keep the public informed of antisemitic trends as we advocate for legislation, educate the media, work with K-12 educators, and workplaces to provide resources, and engage with tech platforms to fight the spread of hate and antisemitism.

Dallas Area Torah Association – I-Connect helping our Israeli community in crisis

As many know the Dallas metroplex has a beautiful and growing Israeli community. We at DATA have a special division that helps this community. Led by Rabbi Yitzchak & Tehilla Chazzan -whether they are religious or not we help them connect, bond and grow together. In light of the current crisis we have seen a tremendous increase in our israeli community to unite and connect. We would like to help at this time and increase our support to them as they are far from family and need us to help support them emotionally and financially. Please help us during this time and this can lead us to help a specific group in our community that usually doesn’t get as much support.

Dallas Holocaust & Human Rights Museum

The Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum is dedicated to teaching the history of the Holocaust and advancing human rights to combat prejudice, hatred, and indifference. Amid rising antisemitism, the Museum remains committed to teaching students about the history of the Holocaust and antisemitism and about the difference between bystander and upstander behavior.

The per-student cost for Museum offerings, while reasonable, is a barrier for at-risk and underserved students. The Museum Experience Fund (MEF) removes financial barriers so that students can access the Museum’s lessons. MEF covers the cost of Museum admission, bus transportation to and from the Museum, and curriculum support to help teachers continue these lessons.

Hillel International

The national survey of American college students found that prior to Oct. 7, 67 percent of Jewish students said they felt physically safe on campus; after Oct. 7, only 46 percent felt physically safe. “Jewish students are experiencing a wave of antisemitism unlike anything we’ve seen before, but shockingly, non-Jewish students barely see it,” said Jonathan A. Greenblatt, ADL CEO. “Since the Oct. 7 massacre in Israel, Jewish students feel increasingly threatened on campus – but college leaders are not doing enough to address this very real fear of antisemitism.”

As antisemitism continues to rise on college campuses and around the world, your generosity is especially critical right now. Your tax-deductible gift will help inspire every Jewish college student to make an enduring commitment to Jewish life, learning, and Israel.
