Each organization brings unique expertise and perspectives to the table, and this session will provide valuable insights into their work. Joule Ventures – Daniel Frankestein

Daniel Frankenstein is a co-founder and Partner at Joule Ventures (founded in 2010 as JANVEST Capital Partners) and has since played a key role in fund capitalization, capital deployment, and portfolio management. Joule Ventures is a top decile, net cash-returning firm across all vintages.

As a dual American and Israeli citizen with over two decades of experience leading business initiatives in Israel, Daniel has developed a unique view of the country’s technology market and with it a venture investment philosophy that continues to drive success – One, partner early with dynamic entrepreneurs. Two, drive an aggressive U.S.-focused strategy. And three, bet big on your winners.

Prior to Joule, Daniel spent eight years at the Corporate Executive Board (NYSE: CEB) in Washington, D.C. advising Fortune 1000 Chief Financial Officers on industry best practices. In 2009, he led CEB’s market entry into Israel where he worked with some of the country’s leading corporations and executives. CEB was acquired by Gartner in 2017.

JLens – Jake Herman

Jake manages JLens’ communications and development strategy, overseeing relationships with investors, donors and the Jewish community. Prior to JLens, Jake was Marketing Manager for UK Jewish Film. He has worked in nonprofit communications and development, primarily within the Jewish community, in the UK, US and New Zealand. Jake holds a Social Impact MBA and MA in Jewish Professional Leadership from Brandeis University, and a BA in Middle Eastern Studies and Hebrew from the University of Manchester.

Israel Bonds – Larry Berman

Larry Berman has spent 28 years as National Managing Director of Corporate and Institutional Sales at Development Corporation for Israel. During his tenure at Israel Bonds, the firm has sold bonds to more than 200 Banks, 115 state and municipal pension and treasury funds, and 50 insurance companies.  Total sales to institutional clients have totaled more than $25 billion dollars from more than 500 customers.  Larry is directly responsible for selling 60 new pension and treasury funds totaling more than $10 billion dollars. Prior to his work at Israel Bonds, Larry was Director of Development at Boston University, Director of Major gifts at DePaul University, and started his work career at United Way of America.  


Graystone Consulting

Graystone Consulting from Morgan Stanley serves those who have a higher calling. Their work is driven by the passion they have for serving philanthropy and mission-based institutions. Graystone is well equipped to serve a wide variety of institutions and provide holistic support from investment policy development and account operations to impact investing and philanthropy management.

Graystone – Justin Dougan

Justin has been affiliated with Graystone Consulting since 2005. As Graystone’s Director of Business Strategy, Justin is responsible for shaping and enhancing the overall client experience while also developing and implementing the Graystone team’s business processes. Justin also is the primary team liaison for third party vendors and product solutions, notably Clearwater Analytics. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, with minors in Accounting and Economics from Wichita State University.

Justin is based out of the Wichita, Kansas office and has 20 years of industry experience, all of which have been at Graystone Consulting. He began his career as a research analyst building a best-in-class performance reporting tool, eventually taking on senior and lead roles. Justin has direct supervision over the investment research & analytics and operations teams for the Wichita-based arm of Graystone Consulting. 

Graystone – Robert J. Morris

Robert Morris has been affiliated with Graystone Consulting since 2003. As an Institutional Consultant, Robert’s primary focus is investment manager research and due diligence. He closely liaises with Morgan Stanley Graystone’s information resources group to ensure that clients are working with only best-of-class investment managers. Robert is also responsible for assisting clients draft investment policy statements, coordinating asset allocation recommendations with the Investment Strategy Committee and assisting clients with their implementation. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and an MBA both from Wichita State University.

Robert is based out of Graystone Consulting’s Wichita, Kansas office and has over 15 years of investment experience, all of which have been with Graystone Consulting. Robert specializes in portfolio construction and management, as well as alternative investments.

Graystone – Paul Cox

Based in the Dallas office, Paul works primarily with a select group of successful entrepreneurs and their families to deliver the full complement of resources and experience needed to address the complex, multifaceted challenges of private family wealth management. His relationships are rooted in investment strategy and may touch every aspect of his clients’ financial lives, including lending solutions, wealth transfer, cash management, philanthropy, family governance and lifestyle management.

Paul draws on more than 18 years of domestic and international experience in asset management, institutional lending and wealth planning to create and implement highly customized solutions for his clients. Prior to joining the firm, Paul was an executive director and banker in the Private Bank at J.P. Morgan, where he served clients in West Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Dallas/Fort Worth. He previously worked at Morgan Stanley, where he was Vice President and Head of Emerging Market Loan Syndicate on the Leverage Finance team in London. He also held several positions in Morgan Stanley’s Fixed Income Division and Private Wealth Management Group in Moscow, New York and Houston. Paul earned an M.B.A. from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an M.S. in international political economy from the London School of Economics, and a B.A. in international politics and Russian.
