The Foundation offers additional scholarships and grant opportunities designed to strengthen Jewish identity and support meaningful experiences. From Jewish overnight camps and teen Israel trips to funding for nonprofit agencies, our programs help create lasting connections and vibrant communities. In addition to college scholarships, we provide a variety of other opportunities for individuals and organizations to grow, learn, and make a difference.

Jewish Overnight Camps, March of the Living/Israel Experiences, Teen Israel Trips, & Nonprofits

Jewish Overnight Camp Scholarships

To be eligible to apply for a scholarship a family must demonstrate financial need and live in one of the following counties: Dallas, Denton, or Collin. Camper(s) must also be entering 3-12 grade in Fall 2026. Please verify that this is a Jewish nonprofit overnight camp in the United States.

Funding is available from the Essie and Reuben Rosenbloom Foundation of the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation as well as the Charlotte and Joe Webberman Jewish Teen Camp of the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation.

The Overnight Jewish Camp Application is currently closed.

Ideas for additional funding would be your synagogue, temple, the camp itself and/or any of the below:

One Happy Camper – for campers who are not in day school

Jewish Children’s Regional Services – for any camper

Dallas Hebrew Free Loan Association – interest free Jewish Experience Loans for camp

March of the Living/Israel Experiences Scholarship

Applications are currently closed. The Dallas Jewish Community Foundation (DJCF) is honored to administer March of the Living scholarship opportunities, many made possible in conjunction with the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas (JFGD).

Eligibility Requirements:

Local Jewish Juniors or Seniors attending a March of the Living Experience. While the overall majority of these scholarships are from students from any high school, there is one scholarship that is specifically for public school students. The Daniels Family Israel Education Endowment Fund of the DJCF is for a student with good grades and leadership experience that have not attended Jewish day school.

Funds will be disbursed directly to the trip organizer, who must be a recognized 501c3 serving the Jewish community. 

 

Israel Summer Experience Scholarship

Applications are currently open through March 17, 2026. Apply here: Israel Summer Experience Scholarship. The Dallas Jewish Community Foundation (DJCF) and the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas (JFGD) are are honored to collaborate to administer Israel Summer Experience scholarships for teens participating in Israel trips this summer.

Eligible programs for funding must:
• Be exclusively for teens
• Be Israel-based (programs may include travel outside of Israel but must be primarily Israel-based)
• Be a minimum of 10 days in duration
• Include an Israeli or Jewish educational component

The Sylvan T. Baer Foundation

Next Award Cycle: Late Summer 2026. The Sylvan T. Baer Foundation, Bank of America, N.A. Trustee was established in 1965 by Mr. Baer in honor of his parents to assist needy and deserving Jews in the Dallas Community. His forethought has allowed the distribution of approximately $7 million dollars. The Dallas Jewish Community Foundation works on behalf of Bank of America in identifying and recommending qualified Jewish organizations, such as synagogues, day schools and other Jewish organizations to receive funding.

Jill Stone Foundation of DJCF

Next Award Cycle: Fall 2027.  This fund was established to honor the memory of Jill Stone through an annual grant to a charitable agency whose mission is to benefit the residents of Vickery Meadow.

The Janis Levine Music Women and Children's Endowment Fund

Next Award Cycle: Spring 2026. Funding from the Janis Levine Music Women and Children’s Endowment Fund of the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation has helped organizations that provide for women and children for over 20 years. Every other year a different need and/or geographic area will be highlighted.

For 2024, the fund will focus on agencies in Israel that benefit women and children. Qualified agencies will receive a personal invitation to participate. If you feel that your agency qualifies, please reach out to [email protected].

Helen E. Risch Preschool Scholarship Endowment Fund

This fund was established to increase Jewish preschool enrollment and provide financial assistance to children who might not otherwise have the opportunity for a Jewish preschool education. Preschool directors apply for this scholarship on behalf of students with financial need.

Vicki Topletz Camp Simcha Scholarship Fund

Established to award one deserving camper a $1,000 scholarship to attend a session at Camp Simcha. If the camper has a sibling attending Camp Simcha or Camp CHAI, then that sibling is given a matching scholarship. The JCC Camp Simcha staff determines the recipient(s).

Dale and Harold Topletz Memorial Camp Chai Scholarship Fund

Established by Vicki Topletz in memory of her parents for the purposes of improving the life of children by defraying the cost of summer camp. Each year one child will receive a $1,000 scholarship to attend a session at Camp Chai. The JCC Camp Chai staff determines the recipient.

Vishnevetsky Family Scholarship Fund

This camp scholarship was established to defray the cost for a camper to attend Greene Family Camp. The recipient is chosen by Greene Family Camp in partnership with the Vishnevetsky Family.
