We will shine a light on several organizations with whom we are proud to partner – raising awareness about current needs and important work being done in our community by agencies you may not be familiar with! You can give from your fund via the DJCF Portal, or click the links below to support.

Be The Difference: Formed in 2012 by four ovarian cancer survivors, Helen Gardner, Jill Bach, Julie Shrell and Lynn Lentscher, who share the same passion to Be the Difference in the fight against ovarian cancer. These women experienced first-hand the little hope given for survival when they were diagnosed. Several organizations focus on early detection efforts, but very few organizations provide hope to women in the fight. Be The Difference Foundation was started to give survivors hope. Hope for better treatment options; hope for longer remissions and ultimately hope for a cure. Just 5 years after diagnosis, Co-founder Helen Gardner lost her battle in August 2014. Be The Difference Foundation is working tirelessly to realize Helen’s dream to make a difference in the fight against ovarian cancer. Give Here: Be The Difference Foundation

Dallas Hebrew Free Loan Association: For over 88 years, the Dallas Hebrew Free Loan Association (DHFLA) has assisted members of the Greater North Texas Jewish community in need by providing interest-free loans. DHFLA was founded on June 23, 1935 by 14 Jewish business leaders. These prominent members of the Dallas Jewish community pledged $132 to establish a Gemilut Chasadim or interest-free loan fund and agreed to make loans up to $10 to Dallas Jews in need of assistance. Since then, we have strived to create a financially secure North Texas, North Central Texas, and East Texas Jewish community by offering interest-free loans. Give Here: Support DHFLA

Jewish Children’s Regional Service: For 165 years, JCRS has served at-risk, dependent and financially challenged Jewish children and families from seven (7) Mid-South states: Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, and Tennessee by providing college scholarships, grants for Jewish summer camp experiences, special needs assistance, and other vital outreach programs that are pivotal in building one’s Jewish identity. Today, JCRS remains vital, impactful, and more necessary than ever. In 2024, over 1,850 children and families were served from more than 200 communities across our region. This year, we anticipate a larger-than-normal deficit in our budget due to increased requests for services. Give Here: JCRS – Serving Jewish Youth and Families

Texans on Mission: Texans on Mission volunteers walk alongside those who are suffering and change the world one act of service and compassion at a time. By meeting crucial needs after a disaster, providing clean drinking water for people around the globe and undertaking construction projects, volunteers share God’s love with hurting people in Texas, across the U.S. and around the world. Since 1967, volunteers have delivered help, hope and healing to millions of hurting people and raising up the next generation to do likewise. As a result of that service, we’ve helped start and train disaster relief groups in all 50 states, giving birth to the third-largest disaster relief network in the nation.
